It is always darkest before dawn, but "The Awakening" is upon us - an awakening to the reality of our failed systems and destructive habits, an awakening that materialism and consumerism brings no true joy, and an awakening that we longer have any choice but resistance and that we must make change if we are to have a future on this planet. Change is one of the few fundamental properties of the UNIverse and it is essential we be in harmony with this essence.
We are also awakening to the realization of our global, individual, and spiritual interdependence, as expressed by past luminaries such as MLK who once said in 1967, βAll life is interrelated, somehow we're all caught in an inescapable network of mutuality tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly. For some strange reason, I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be. You can never be what you ought to be until I am what I ought to be. This is the interrelated structure ofΒ reality.β
Originally this compilation project was started to raise funds for our next vinyl release. But that past reality has changed, as have our present intentions. The Black Lodge, in collaboration with Fantasy 1, have now decided to work on a larger series of tape/digital releases to raise money for various social causes that are near and dear to our hearts. This is Volume 1.
This is a collective project created by people very dear to us. Every track on this 90 minute compilation was created with true heart and spirit, and it is this we hope to pass on to the listener. For this volume we were blessed by the following members of our family: C.L.A.W.S, Sons of Traders, Memory Clap Acid, Kimyon Huggins, Mark Grusane, Bill Converse, Elena Sizova, Nomadico, FAUNA53/ Asymmetrical, Pablo R. Ruiz, Shift Function, Heidi Sabertooth, πΈπππππ πΊπππ, & Balance Angel. Mastering was done by Alex Michalski aka Grey People. We cannot thank enough all these amazing artists/friends/family who have contributed to this and to those who are involved in the future volumes for their effort and spirit. ππΎ
We will continue with Volume 2 next month, again on Bandcamp Day, so that we can raise the maximum amount of donations for these causes. It will likely be a pandemic related organization, but who knows what new crisis may arise in this tumultuous time. We may also possibly do a Volume 3 the following month depending on how many more tracks we receive.
